BBC Electric Proms

Event Description

BBC Electric Proms returns for a fourth year this October, with a new format based around the BBC's four popular music networks and will be based exclusively at the Roundhouse, London. Radio 1, Radio 2, 1xtra and 6 Music will each host days at the festival, with the programming based around each station's musical playlists.

All performers at the BBC Electric Proms are challenged to come up with new and original material or arrangements of their music to reflect the central theme of the festival, creating new moments in music. All of this can be accessed either at the venues, watching and listening on the BBC, or by interacting with online, red button and mobile media.

The line-up includes the previously announced Doves with The London Bulgarian Choir, Dizzee Rascal, The Heritage Orchestra and The Young Punx, and Smokey Robinson with BBC Concert Orchestra. The BBC Electric Proms festival will take place from Tuesday 20th to Saturday 24th of October 2009 at The Roundhouse and various venues around Camden, London. The idea for this event is to allow artists to perform something a bit different, whether it be a performance of rare tracks, a unique collaboration or a cross bridging of genres.

Tickets are on sale to see Smokey Robinson, Dizzee Rascal, and Doves at this year's BBC Electric Proms.
Smokey Robinson tickets are priced at £25.

Doves tickets are priced at £20.

Dizzee Rascal tickets are priced at £20.

BBC New Music Shorts tickets for Metronomy, and Florence & the Machine are offered free by registering online.
