Student UK

I've lined up a few Open Days at some of the universities I am applying to, but apart from the obvious, I don't know what to specifically look out for when I'm at the uni or what questions to ask. Any ideas are very welcome. Also what things do you take into account before deciding on which uni to enter?

thanks!

If there are placements, where are they based?
What level of support do you get to secure your placement?
How long are the placements and will you be paid?
What kind of industry contacts does the course have?
Do they do Live Projects with Business/Industry – if yes, what?
What are the most important skills I will learn here?
What is the employment record for the course?

It's good to ask what links the university have with the industry you wish to enter. I chose Leeds Met because they have good stong links with the Chareted Institute of Marketing and other established bodies and companies. I think its also important to ask about what resources they have in terms of librabry etc. It may seem a bit 'geeky' but it definitely helps when your in your third year of studying like me : )
Make sure you ask what their policy on dropping and taking classes is...and what your grace period is before you can't drop a class.
I think career support services also should be taken into consideration.
I'd also ask about scholarships, accommodation opportunities, facilities, wi-fi, students events :)
In my MBA college they offer extra tutors support, individual consultations. You may ask in your uni about these opportunities.
When I went to my college's open days to find out more about AAT qualification, i asked something like: whats fun to do around there; do most students leave during the weekends; are the professors readily available; hows the food; hows the social scene; is there good academic assistance; hows the library, and does it have long hours; do you get decent rates buying and selling back to the bookstore. And it really helped, hope it might help you too.
It is truly a good thought to have many of them on one page to refer to in its place of search around for hours online dissertation help | essay help | assignment help
