Anyone who loves travel, culture and the environment should log on to Earth.org, a new online eco-travel guide purely written for everyone, by everyone.
Many travel websites are plagued with sponsors and advertisements. The aim of Earth.org is to provide responsible travel information that web-users can trust. It has a non-profit approach and is written first hand by people who want to share their knowledge and experiences with anyone who is interested.
If you've been on a gap-year or simply a two-week holiday in the sun, why not tell the world about it? Recommend your favourite cities, landmarks, attractions, hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, beaches and anything you want to share about the places you've been.
Even if you aren't a traveller Earth.org wants to hear from you. Become an ambassador for your city and write about it and the surrounding area. What things are there to do? Where's the best place to eat? What's unique about it? Provide an honest and positive account which will help travellers to your hometown see it the way you do and experience the things you love.
It's still fairly new so there are lots of places which need writing about. But with enough contributions we can build a reliable and trustworthy website which will help to conserve and improve local travel.
Getting involved with an original yet ethical project has been great fun and I feel like I’m really making a difference to the way we see and treat our planet. Another great aspect is that I work with people all over the world who already have years of experience in Marketing and PR and have taught me things about the industry that my studies haven’t.
Earth.org is always looking for new volunteers to help them improve the site and raise awareness.
