1. Southampton Students Union
Your first and last destination of any academic year in Southampton, this is where friendships are forged, romances begin, bad dance routines run amok and the beer flows like wine. Well, most of the time! Featuring its own nightclub, takeaway, cinema, ballroom, cafe, 2 bars and numerous other wonderful things it's no wonder this is number 1!

2. Oceanography Centre
Probably the uni's proudest academic boast that we have the number one marine sciences division in the uk, plus it has lots of very fast speedboats!

3. Big Cheese
Surely the cheesiest Friday night party in the whole of the UK and I defy you to find a more pleasurable location for playing some of the maturest hits in cheesy pop history!

4. Uni halls
After just finishing my first year, I can honestly say the halls at Southampton were the most memorable place I've slept in my entire life, and boy do you get good furniture! We're talking executive desks here and I wish I could keep mine!

5. Unis own buses!!
I know that one sounds dull but trust me in a city that never sleeps, and a student lifestyle that's always on the go. Being able to jump on a bus that plays great music and is full of fellow students is a fun way to travel!

6. Southampton's parks
The main campus is situated right next to the gigantic common and dare I say that our parks can probably only be beaten in city status by London in terms of sunbathing opportunities, water fountains, and yes feeding ducks! Aye carumba indeed!

7. Good weather, nearly all year round!
The sun, the sea, the surf, sounds good doesn't it!

8. Library and lecturers with attitude!
Can I just say that never in my life have I been amazed by a library until I entered the one at our uni. It's damn fine. How many lectures have you been to that you can say inspired you, made you laugh, and damn near changed your life perspective on some of your opinions! Yes believe it or not, the lectures here actually don't drive you to sleep!

9. Shopping
Everyone hates shopping, but then again when you have two shopping malls, a gigantic high street and even three (that's THREE!!!) Subway outlets (best fast food in the world ever!) it tends to be a more enjoyable experience. Did I forget to mention that due to SUSU not being affiliated with NUS we get a hell of a lot better local discounts and one of the shopping malls is the largest city centre shopping mall in Europe? I rest my case!

10. Societies and clubs mania!
There's probably around 200 clubs in this uni and you'll discover martial arts that you never knew existed at the bunfight. Not only that but with a brand new sports centre next year, and our glamorous location here on the southern coast, the chance for international sports acclaim and many days spent surfing all beckon!!!
