1) It's cheap around here - there's plenty of markets around, as well as the Potteries Centre and Freeport Talke. Bargain!

2) We are so close to everything - just jump on a train and you can get to Birmingham or Manchester in as little as an hour - bonus!

3) Alton Towers and Drayton Manor Park - only a bus journey away and both are fantastic days out.

4) Oatcakes - fantastic little thing Stoke is good for. Eat them with cheese, bacon or sweet stuff - just like waffles! The best oatcakes are from Stoke - Keele has nothing on us!

5) GOBBLE! 'av it! Staffordshire University student union is home to Gobble on a Wednesday night - the BEST night in town.

6) The clubs and pubs - people just think Stoke is a small town, but guess what? We have loads of pubs and clubs. There's Liquid (fantastic Skool Days Discos), Creation (foam parties galore), Rock Stop (mosh all ya want kids - if that's your kinda thing) plus loads of bars - Fluid, Chicago Rock, Revolution, Flares (you can't beat their cocktails) and the Aussie Bar to name but a few. If you want a cheap night out, then Stoke-on-Trent has plenty to offer.

7) Two cinemas, two ski slopes, two aqua theme parks and a bowling alley which ALL offer student rates, when you whip out your NUS card, of course.

8) Robbie Williams - oh yeah, the best thing in the music biz is a Stokie! Come on!

9) Some top totty can be found at Staffordshire University - mmmmmm!!

10) We are in the Midlands! The best place in the whole UK -Ozzy Osbourne, UB40, Robbie Williams, Slash, oatcakes, Bob the Builder (well his voice - Neil Morrissey), the Bull Ring, N.E.C., N.I.A. and The Works nightclub all call the Midlands home, SO who are we to argue with them?
